Not sure where to start? That's okay. Most people aren't.

If you've landed on this page, something has probably been going on for a while. Maybe you've been managing on your own, trying to push through, wondering if what you're experiencing is 'bad enough' to need help. It is. And you don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

You might be ready for support if...

  • You're finding it hard to get through the day
  • You've tried managing on your own and it's not working
  • Your mood, sleep or behaviour has changed significantly
  • You're having thoughts of harming yourself
  • Relationships at home or work are being affected
  • A GP or psychologist has suggested a higher level of care
  • You've been through a traumatic experience and haven't processed it
  • You're using alcohol or other substances to cope

If you are in immediate danger, please call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

For crisis support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours) or the ACT Mental Health Crisis team on 1800 629 354.

What Are My Options?

Types of care we offer

INPATIENT

Inpatient care means staying at our hospital for a period of time — usually one to four weeks. It's recommended when you need round-the-clock support, when outpatient care hasn't been enough, or when a safe and structured environment is important for your recovery.

DAY THERAPY

Day therapy programs run during the day and allow you to return home in the evenings. This can be a good step between inpatient care and returning to everyday life, or as an alternative to inpatient admission for some people.

OUTPATIENT

Outpatient appointments with our psychiatrists and allied health team can provide ongoing support alongside other treatment, or as a first step before a more intensive program.

You Don't Need All the Answers

Our admissions team's job is to help you work out what's right for you. You don't need to know which program you need, whether you have the right health cover, or even whether you're ready.

Just call us. We'll take it from there — one step at a time.
