Education Events

As part of our ongoing commitment to ongoing General Practitioner and Health Professional education, Deakin Private Hospital holds education events throughout the year.

Upcoming event:

Youth Mental Health and Neurodivergence: A Practical Guide for General Practice

Supporting Young Adults in Your Practice

A free 1-hour CPD webinar for GPs and primary care clinicians

Young adulthood (18–25) is one of the most clinically complex periods for mental health presentations. With nearly 39% of young Australians experiencing a mental health disorder in the past 12 months, GPs are increasingly the first point of contact — and the most important one.

Join us on Wednesday 27 May for an interactive webinar designed specifically for GPs and primary care teams working with emerging adults.

What we'll cover:

  • Prevalence and key trends in youth mental health across Australia
  • Recognising anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use in young adults
  • Assessment tools and engagement strategies for the GP consultation
  • Understanding neurodivergence and co-occurring conditions
  • Referral pathways and collaborative care planning
  • Interactive case-based discussion and Q&A

Event details:

  • Wednesday 27 May 2026
  • 6:00PM AEST
  • Online via Microsoft Teams
  • 1 CPD hour

Who should attend: GPs, GP registrars, practice nurses, and other primary care clinicians managing young adult patients.

This webinar is free to attend. Places are limited to ensure an interactive experience.
