About Women’s Wellbeing

The 12-week Women’s Wellbeing Program is designed to support self-care and growth through a blend of psychological, behavioural, and creative therapies.

Throughout the program, you’ll gain practical tools and supportive connections to help you navigate life’s challenges and transitions. In a safe space with other women, you’ll share experiences, build resilience, and strengthen your sense of belonging.

You’ll leave the program with greater confidence, improved communication skills, healthier ways to manage stress, and strategies you can use every day to support your mental health and overall wellbeing.

This program may be suitable for you if:

  • You have been having more difficulty managing the stressors in your life.
  • You have been feeling down and would like to learn skills to change the way you feel.
  • You would like to learn strategies to improve your confidence and self-esteem.
  • You would like to share your experiences in a safe group environment with other women.

What you will experience

Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions lead by a qualified Allied Health professional. Participants will be supported and encouraged to share individual experiences as a group. You will learn new skills and will practice applying them in your own day-to-day before the next session. Then, bring what you have learnt and experienced to each group for feedback and input.

Treatment objectives

Objective 1

Mindfulness and Self-Care – learn how to look after yourself to stay on top of your physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Objective 2

Understand Depression and Anxiety – understand the cycles of depression and anxiety and learn skills to reverse those cycles.

Objective 3

Signature Strengths – learn to recognise your character strengths and use them to improve your resilience and well-being.

Objective 4

Understand Change, Loss and Grief – learn to understand times of change, loss and grief and use skills and self-compassion to get through difficult situations.

Objective 5

Communication and Boundaries – learn how to establish healthy boundaries in the relationships in your life.

For you to access this program, you will need a valid referral from a medical practitioner to a psychiatrist with admission rights to Deakin Private Hospital. General enquiries about this program can be made by calling 02 5114 8100 or email dkn.dayprogram@imh.com.au.

How much does it cost?

Patients are admitted as a day patient and as such, can claim their attendance via their health fund. We ask that patients confirm any applicable out-of-pocket excess or gap costs directly with Deakin Private Hospital by calling 02 5114 8100.

Who will find this program helpful?

This program is designed specifically for women who are diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety disorders and addictive disorders, and would benefit from support and contact with other women in order to improve their mental health wellbeing.

How long does this program run for?

This group is held every week for twelve weeks.
