In a world where words sometimes fall short, expressive art-making opens a powerful pathway for self-discovery, healing, and growth.
This program is grounded in the belief that creative expression can foster emotional well-being. It combines therapeutic techniques with the creative process, allowing participants to explore their inner worlds in ways traditional talk therapy may not. Art-making can foster healthy coping mechanisms, assist in processing emotions, help manage stress, and build resilience. By incorporating creative expression into our lives, we can adopt tangible strategies to navigate life’s challenges.
Facilitated by a trained art therapist, group sessions involve creating art with a therapeutic intention, such as painting, drawing, mask-making, and collage. Participation does not require any prior artistic skill; the focus is on the process, not the final product.
Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions lead by a qualified Allied Health Professional. Each session will support you to use new skills to guide, inspire and motivate yourself to set goals, take action and enrich your life. You will practice applying skills in your own day-to-day before the next session. Bring what you have learnt and experienced to each group for feedback and input.
